Ecopia EP500 is designed for significant improvements in tyre rolling resistance and vehicle aerodynamics compared to standard sized tyres. Specially developed for BMW i3 electric vehicle, the design ensures improvements in aerodynamics and rolling resistance while offering outstanding grip in wet weather conditions. Through Bridgestone's ologic technology this tyre delivers unprecedented levels of both efficiency and performance. Bridgestone's ologic technology was voted "Tyre Technology of the Year" in the Tyre Technology International Awards for Innovation and Excellence in 2014. The most spectacular achievement is that these improvements do not involve a trade-off in terms of safety. However, like all summer tyres, they are not intended to be driven in near-freezing temperatures, through snow or on ice.

A long and narrow contact patch and three circumferential grooves help the tyre slice through water to enhance wet traction.
